How to create A+ Content that passes review the first time
A+ is where a listing gets to talk like a brand instead of a spec sheet. It's also where sellers write "best-selling" and "free shipping" and then wait a week to find out that both are banned.
The build is quick. Passing review is the skill.
Part 01
Step by step
7 steps, in the order Seller Central asks for them.
- 01Check your access
You need a Professional selling account and a brand representative or reseller role on a Brand Registry brand. The brand name on each ASIN must match Brand Registry exactly, and it's case sensitive.

- 02Pick the type
Basic gives you 5 modules from 14 choices. Premium gives you 7 from 19 and adds video, hotspots and carousels, at no extra cost. Brand Story sits in the From the brand section and runs alongside either.
- 03Open A+ Content Manager
Go to Advertising, then A+ Content Manager, then Start creating A+ content. Name the project, choose the language and add modules. Save as you go; Amazon says so too.

- 04Use files that pass
JPG, PNG or BMP in RGB, under 2 MB, at least 72 dpi. No GIFs, watermarks, QR codes or links. Write alt text for every image.
- 05Apply the ASINs
Search ASIN families, select the targets and apply. Bulk upload handles more than 1,000 ASINs, up to 10,000 per upload.
- 06Preview, then submit
Preview on desktop and mobile, then submit. Review can take up to seven business days, and you can have up to 20 submissions pending at once.
- 07Check it live, then test it
Approved content publishes within 24 hours. Then use Manage Your Experiments to A/B test A+ on eligible ASINs, up to 500 per experiment.

Tricks the help page buries
The lines in Amazon's own documentation that most sellers scroll past.
- 1Compare only with yourself
Comparison charts can only include products from your own brand, and A+ can't mention competitors at all. Comparing categories is fine.
- 2Don't reuse the gallery
A+ images should be unique, not the same shots as the image gallery. And one brand logo per page is the limit.
- 3Mind the house style
Amazon's best practices ask for short paragraphs (three sentences at most), serial commas and numbers under 10 spelled out. Small things, cheap to get right.
- 4No date words outside Brand Story
Time-sensitive references aren't allowed in standard A+ modules. Brand Story is the one place they're accepted.

Questions sellers ask
Tap a question to open it.
Does Amazon A+ Content cost anything?
No. Amazon says Basic and Premium A+ Content are both available at no additional cost, and there's no extra eligibility requirement for Premium. You do need a Professional account and a brand representative or reseller role on a Brand Registry brand.

How long does A+ Content approval take?
Up to seven business days for review, then publication within 24 hours of approval. Watch the status in A+ Content Manager, and if a submission is rejected, fix the reasons it lists and resubmit.
Why does A+ Content Manager say my ASIN isn't recognized?
Usually the listing data. The brand name on the ASIN must match the Brand Registry name exactly, including case, spaces and hyphens. A wrong or missing GTIN, or the wrong category, can break the link too. ASINs carrying A+ contributed by a retail vendor can't be edited.
Can A+ Content compare my product with a competitor's?
No. A+ can't mention competitors, and comparison charts can only include products from your own brand. Comparing categories is allowed, for example LED bulbs against halogen ones, as long as no other brand is named.
